She began her musical journey very young. Already as a little girl she wanted to be a singer, dancer and actor. She joined a musical theatre group at the age of 12 and started taking voice lessons a few years later. She also danced classical ballet determinedly until she was about 18 years old. Today she is a versatile performer with excellent stage performance skills. In addition to her classical vocal training she has vocal skills in musical theatre and pop music styles.

"Johanna Takalo mesmerized with Bellini's aria from La Sonnambula. Her vocal tone was spectacular, high parts were executed with virtuosic control, without haste or tension. Her voice had wonderful coloratura but also smooth controlled sonority in the lower register."

Hanna Laulajainen, Kaleva

"Johanna Takalo's (Adele) bright coloratura soprano was technically impressive especially in the higher register."

Pauliina Rahiala, Satakunnan Kansa

"Coloratura soprano Johanna Takalo's clear voice sounds charming, dynamics are under control and the textual content of the songs is conveyed. Articulation is sharp. Cunegonde's aria Glitter and be gay from Bernstein's operetta Candide was a captivating performance."

Jussi Mattila, Savon Sanomat
